TRANSPARENCITIES

Transparencities, a series of fourteen - older but never before released - abstract architectural photographs made in New York City and Chicago in 2008 and 2009.

It is about the habitat of the human species in the modern urban environment: the glass, the brick, and the steel typical of the current anthropocene era.

It is about alienation and isolation.

It is about a twisted reality of an urban environment that on the one hand is pretending to be “look through” or transparent, but at the other hand is divided into numerous compartments. As such the reflections and deformations of light and images create a feeling of estrangement and isolation in the modern urban world.
